Sohalia
Sohalia took the proffered hand with a smile and a word of thanks and suddenly found herself standing on the Peregrine's deck with her friend, her nerves a knot in the base of her stomach. It was a small ship, not unlike a water vessel, and she swallowed hard, trying to force down her rising fear. The Peregrine floated steadily in the air, and Sohalia found it both intimidating and reassuring that she was so unlike a sea boat, which would have been rocking in the waves.But as Tal began to explain, Sohalia found herself pulled out of her worries somewhat. A naturally curious person, she had a genuine interest in how the vessel worked, and she watched as Tal scurried here and there, untying and retying ropes, letting down sails, and generally preparing the Peregrine for departure. It was, perhaps, the quietest she had been around the courier in their short friendship. She turned her face toward the prow of the ship - if that was indeed what it was called - and gasped as the deck began to move beneath her feet.
The time for fear was past - they were moving now, and it was thrilling and terrifying in equal measure. Sohalia gripped the railing, her knuckles white with the strength of her grip. She watched as the Stone Symphony passed by below them, its meandering path guiding the skyship along. She had to admit that it was almost as beautiful to see the world from the deck of a skyship as it was to see it upon her own two wings. Realizing that she should say something, she glanced at Tal and attempted a smile. "It's really beautiful from up here. This isn't so bad."
