Perhaps it is best to not have the Attuned bond, unsure how his control would falter as he chases down the rest of the herd while she stakes her claim. With how fast she’s ran toward it with the intention of destroying it, he seems to have some unspoken understanding that it’s likely she would rip into the first one. But that’s fine, perhaps some could be salvaged from it. And if nothing else, he hopes to have one to bring back in tact as well.
Which he succeeds in doing – as he chases down the stragglers, he manages to take out one of the larger stags, waiting until he’s gotten it under control before he grabs it with his teeth and drags it back to where he’d left Isla. He drops it as soon as he’s close enough to her, dark ears perked forward, and a look at her that seems to suggest that they’d only be taking the one back.
It’s fine, however, they’ve managed to get a decent amount of food for a little bit longer at least. And if nothing else, Isla got to experience her shift and all its molten glory as well.
