Her hands took him by the shoulders, holding him now in outstretched arms. She looked him over, every inch a gangly teen. Not a chubby cheek or pudgie finger left. Phoebe sighed shakily. "Why?" she asked again, drying her cheeks on the shoulders of her dress.
