Tal began to collect the thick, red sap of the tree as they spoke. Alys eyed the container with barely concealed distaste. What was the point? The gods could wiggle their fingers and grant someone deserving whatever they wished. Of course, then the argument would become 'who is deserving,' and she wasn't likely to appreciate that conversation any more than she would welcome one on the whys and hows of quests.

I'm learning to shoot a bow, but I'm hardly a hunter. I just - well, I need steady income, really. Then I can pursue what I'm actually passionate about in my spare time. I don't suppose you have any ideas?" she asked hopefully.
