Wobbling a bit as Koa pops back up and disturbs his precarious balance on the bar stool, Mateo nonetheless has a delighted, dimpled smile for his friend, following suit in slapping at the counter with his hands. "Hear hear!" He joins in with those who have decided (very kindly) to cheer on his being right, the botanist readily accepting the shots that the other man has ordered for them.
"That is the spirit!" he says, handing Koa his shot and clinking their glasses before he shoots his own back - not that you'd catch Mateo marrying anybody in a million years, mind you. But with the night as young as they are, and with a thousand bad decisions waiting to be made, there's no reason to slow down or even think too hard about what to do next.
"You got it. But remember - it is not my fault if you do not remember the good time tomorrow. It does not mean it was any less good."
