Soh had shared with him that she'd been taking lessons in staff and knife fighting, and Jude had pointed out that there might be some situations in which she'd be weaponless and, therefore, defenseless, which she'd never really thought about before - especially since she'd taken to always having a knife on her person, just in case. Still, his reasoning was sound, so she'd agreed to a lesson in hand-to-hand combat. It certainly couldn't hurt, right?
