Luka usually isn't sure what to do with gratitude, so he just smiles slightly and salutes her lazily, happy to help but otherwise a failure at small talk. Luckily it seems his Warden is the same way, and the two toil away in relative silence which is a relief.
There's not much left to do since Alys is the one tasked with the most important part of adapting the actual function and aesthetic of the place to her own liking, so Luka takes up a nearby broom and uses it to knock down cobwebs. It's easy to twist the handle in fast, smooth motions and coil the webbing around the straw fibers, though he has to clean off the bottom of the broom a few times when it fills up too fast.
