The sword came down in a sweeping arc, slicing the thin fog as it retreated from the climbing sun. It swirled around in hypnotizing patterns made by each movement. With a spinning maneuver, Zavien attempted to lunge and thrust his blade behind him only to fall flat on his back. He gasped, closing his eyes. The cool moisture of the morning further saturated the sweat-soaked tunic, chilling his aching muscles. A satisfying feeling of exhaustion settled over him. Still catching his breath, Zavien opened his eyes to the sky, making out the golden patches of sunlight filtering through. It was nearly midday. He should really find some food.

Placing his hand behind him to sit up, he reached for the sword next to him. A smile lit up his face as he narrowed his eyes in determination. "Just one more."
