Sadly the ecosystem here is significantly more vast that one Ancient's fire magic can handle, and so while a few critters do succumb to her abilities, the purple infection in the swamp persists, polluting the water.
Zavien 's call summons a group of bugs who land on the water's surface. While this might not look like much, they're able to stop some of the larger species of veil fungus and abyssal shrouds from making it any further down the waterway.
Then there's Koa, who's arrival should have a theme song. The plunk plunk! of his stones is accompanied by the too-sweet scent of fried plants, and though his electricity grounds itself out fairly quickly, it probably isn't smart to touch the water.
Though Lena's channelling has stopped the nearby animals from dropping seeds and such into the water, there's still a considerable amount of pollution that has already made its way into the waterway and the longer you lollygag about in the quicksand, the worse it's going to get.
