Vai was happy to let Jigano lead the dancing; she couldn't be too carefree given the babe in her arms, but she was more than happy to move to the beat of the music. Felix, for his part, seemed utterly not bothered by the affair, snug close against his mother's chest and enjoying the whirling lights and bubbling melodies around them. It would have been a lie to say that Vai didn't notice the falter in the bard's smile, though she understood it more than well enough.
"The very same," she murmured, her smile sad yet understanding. "I lost her, when she was but a child. I fell very ill, and my then husband believed I was dead. I spent over a decade trying to find her again... only to learn of the terrible life she had been forced into."
But that was a story for another time, Vai determined not to let the darkness of her daughter's past muddy the enjoyment of the dance. "You have clearly never seen my husband dance!" She all but giggled to him, slowing her steps as the song began to wind down and rocking Felix gently in her arm. "He did prove quite the distraction, it's true. But I'll come to the guild as soon as I find a spare moment, I assure you."
