When you were thrust into sudden parenthood, concerns for ten years on seemed worrisome even though he had time to consider them. "And I dunno what they're gonna do when they grow up. She seemed to like his idea about the leaves and he smiled, leaning back in to kiss her again. He had noticed the way she had followed him back, like she was pulled along with him; if Phoebe wanted to kiss him he was hardly going to say no.
His hands wrapped around her back, his eyes closed as he kissed her just a little bolder, tilting his head into it and holding her close. In the sleepy little room, even with the news just imparted, he felt warm and content in that moment, happy with her. He knew it would not last so he drank it like air, stroking her skin and kissing her with all the love he felt.
