DEIMOS
And in your darkest hour,
I hold secrets flame
From one potential disaster to the next, Caido had its ways of mimicking other lands in their paramount methods to grant them hope and take it away quickly thereafter. The flinthopper’s song hadn’t been one of serenity or repose; but instinctual chaos, bringing the bestial man to the forefront of the burning woods by sheer curiosity, always drawn to bedlam. The fire didn’t resemble anything he actively encouraged, however, it wasn’t his father’s kindling embers and flames, it wasn’t the wake of a controlled bonfire, but the subject of a giant grasshopper’s meddling.

His eyes quickly took in the rest of the scene: ice dragons, shouting, birds flying, evading, intending to make their escape. Other individuals would likely follow the same tactic, but born straight from frays and sketched in the outline of resolve, determination, and unholy sedition, the irreverent pulse of his movements and motions gazed upon the sources of the fire, besides a flinty incitement, taking in the piles of broken wood, dried, eaten and devoured quickly, fervently. Huyana and his mother would’ve been a godsend here. But they weren’t amidst this plain – ghosts and wraiths – he’d have to assist without their watery influences.

Why not try and remove some of the ignition source? He wouldn’t be able to grab hold of actual trees and move them out of the way, but the fallen collection of bramble sitting there, waiting to be consumed and feed the flames, could be maneuvered, if he was fast enough. He summoned the briefest of his creation incantations, sparking over his hands in the glow of gloves, some minor protection in case the burning inferno ached to lance over his skin. Then he crouched, getting as close as he could to grab hold of discarded sticks, branches, and bramble, lifting them into his arms and carrying them to a safer distance, where they could make a far less impact, before returning again to resume the same pattern – while ice dragons worked, while others devised more plans.
master of nothing place;
of recoil and grace
