Jigano nodded sympathetically, but since Amalia didn't seem too bothered by it he saw no point in doing more. There were other things to talk about, after all, jokes to make and teasing of siblings and laughing at companions being silly and adorable young creatures as they played with each other and occasionally used the humans for 'base.'
The smell of the sweet cakes was a little piece of heaven as it circulated through the room, and Jigano found himself salivating as he waited eagerly for Amalia to check the loaves for doneness. He'd never been happier to see a clean knife (well, at least in the context of a kitchen) and he grinned back at his mentor as the pans were delivered to the counter and their golden bounty deposited neatly upon the waiting racks.

I think Rory will like... this one," he decided, not even trying to deny that he would be taking one back to his partner, and warmed that Amalia knew him - them - so well. He pointed to one of the nearly-identical loaves to be set aside, and then happily helped his mentor serve up the other, offering a small piece to Isuma as he bit into the soft, sweet loaf and sighed in utter contentment at the confection that the baker had taught him how to make.
