As a snake he could not blink, but his eyes were covered with glassy brille scales, like protective goggles over his pupils and sclera. With his nose and mouth pinched tightly closed and scales covering his body, he was as protected as he could get in any of his shapes without the use of magic. He slithered stoically forward, questing for a way through the rubble even as the gas clawed and burned at him with a thousand ephemeral talons, prickling through even his best natural defenses.
He paused when he found his way through the fallen masonry, sending a pulse of thought back towardsAmalia to tell the others. Not so far, but it's dark as pitch back here. He coiled himself out of the way, hesitant to proceed too far until the rest of his companions had joined him and Amalia's staff revealed the cavern in its fallen splendor.
Oh... he mentally sighed, remembering the glimpses of beauty from their last descent. It had fallen to ruin, but the shadow of it remained. I'll look for the source of the water, he offered to Amalia, and any of the Fae that could hear an Attuned's thoughts. Maybe it can be diverted to cleanse some of this place? He lifted his head high, well clear of the sludge, and began a careful path through the trees, trying not to brush or disturb them as he turned his head first one way and then another, seeking the sound of rushing water. He spared the wall of stone a mournful glance, hoping to return to it later, perhaps with Fae aid.
Jigano stays in snake form and goes looking for the source of the water, continuing to hold his breath against the gas.
