Remi wanted to argue, to tell Ronin he hadn't had a chance to say how much before the ex-captain had died, but it didn't matter now. He was back. They were together. Their forever was upon them.
With a boyish and entirely shit-eating grin directed towards Amalia, the alchemist turned towards Ronin just as his husband moved forward to meet him. Rexanna's original display had faded while his arms and tongue and lips had been otherwise entangled with Ronins, and so it was now just the incredibly detailed and impressive array of penises in the sky that he saw. With a snort, he tried to find his ever-beautiful friend in the crowd to shoot her a pleased grin, but in the glare of the lights he could hardly see much. "Definitely not a Northaven wedding, then." He chuckled, leaning his head against Ronin's shoulder to watch the colourful erections dancing across the sky.
For anyone else who might try and speak with the alchemist that evening, they'd find him overjoyed with colour high in his cheeks and a sparkle in his shattered sea-glass gaze. They'd notice too, the way his eyes always seemed to find Ronin in the crowd, how if no one was engaged with him at the moment the alchemist's teeth would worry his lower lip, his nostrils would flair, and something in him would quiver and blaze brightly.
