They parted after greetings: he left Amalia with a kiss on the hand and congratulations to the upcoming couple. He drifted to a space where he could watch, pride instilled on his otherwise stoic features for the baker and her officiating purposes. He wasn’t familiar with any of the wedding affairs amidst Caido traditions, but she led the way – and he listened despite the unknown, or the pledge to gods. It was more about the partnership between Remi and Ronin, themed with second chances (which burned at him too – the chilling winds, the painted skies), seedlings for growth, guiding stars of Safrin and lights in the darkness, and launching over the brazier he’d made. The Reaper was pleased to see it suited the purpose just fine, neither individual burned or maimed; antics ensuing because that was who they were. Safrin made her appearance (the second time he’d seen a celestial being), and then the rings came into flourish – his gaze narrowed on the ring boxes he’d carved and created, content to see them harboring precious things until the time was right.

As Amalia stepped aside, finished with her proceedings, her eyes seemed to bore into his, and he stared right back, a brow arched. Hm.

Then it was back to Ronin and Remi; their journey, full of trials and tribulations, naught easy (and perhaps that was simply the way it was; nothing simple, the world too grave and forlorn, earning one’s contentment, adoration, and love). That notion lingered against him too, long after the vows. But he cheered and roared with the rest of the crowd, banging his drink against the table, contributing to the din and ruckus, to the heartfelt throngs, to the notions of bliss and exultation amidst the days of gloom and despair and tyrants. Maybe this was what they needed, to keep on going, to continue fighting.

Then, there was Rexanna – not anticipating the incoming fireworks, he watched as they burst into the sky, a celebratory dazzling of lights…except the shapes were very distinct. That was probably when he lost all decorum, laughter starting from his chest and ricocheting, loud and clear, semblances of hilarity and bemusement curling along his lips, reverberating until he nearly had tears in his eyes.
