Sam was... so good under him, there was a physical compatibility that Nate hadn’t expected there, in the way they slotted together, the way Sam rose up to meet him. It was almost perfect, but only almost, why only almost? Nate couldn’t quite put his finger on it, not when h was distracted by the other man pulling him down for more kisses.
It wasn’t until he had a moment to breathe, Sam pulling back to work at his shirt, and Nate leaning up to help him that it clicked. Sam had pushed him away before, and while Nate hadn’t known him long he definitely knew his type. The type who would make a decision in a snap, and then agonize over whether it was correct after. Nate didn’t want to be that agony.
”Hey, Sam...” Nate’s hands closed over Sams, stopping their attempts on his shirt for a moment. ”You want this, right? Really want it?” He didn’t mention how badly he wanted it, but he was sure there was a pretty obvious hint to his interest pressing against Sams thigh at the moment. He let go of Sams hands and let them hover over his shirt instead, ready to remove it as soon it immediately if Sam said yes.
