He smiled wanly at the platitude, more than a little concerned that the bookmaker didn't seem to feel as though the changes affected him at all. It was Sam's guild, too, after all, that was undergoing such upheavals... but perhaps it was all the other man could do to worry about himself in these difficult times. Had his disappearance perhaps slipped Zariah's notice? Sam was a quiet and unassuming man usually, and if he hadn't drawn the tyrant's personal attention it was possible he was managing to avoid all the trouble and fear that had settled over the Settlement.
