It had been a gift, not an invitation, he thought desperately, but lacked the verbal facility to make that clear. An angry Edy might make things uncomfortably toasty for him, but a lusty Edy was crossing boundaries he very definitely did not want her to cross, and he hopped off the windowsill at her command-

A little distance helped relieve some of his anxiety, though the view as he craned his head down to peer back inside remained just as awkwardly embarrassing for one of them - and it wasn't the new Queen. "Edy," he begged in his rough raven's voice. "Talk." Something he was growing increasingly worried wasn't going to happen. He could always come back tomorrow... but with her new, ah, addition he wasn't sure she'd be up for serious conversation for a week. That would probably be for the best for the Hollowed Grounds, at least... a Queen busy taking care of herself wasn't going to go around arresting innocent bakers, after all.
But it wouldn't solve any of the problems currently facing them. At best it would only delay them, and at worst... well, it might make things worse. A few hours, though, wouldn't hurt, right? Still, after all he had done to gather his courage to approach the Manor, this unexpected roadblock had him visibly deflating a little. "Talk later?" he gave one last try, even while knowing that she might well be piqued at him for not joining in with her sexcapades. Still, even though he and Rory had never put their monogamy into words, he wasn't interested in sleeping with anyone else.
And besides, as he'd told Remi, the thought of sleeping with Edy, much like Sam or Amalia, was just weird.
