"Only in bed? My scorching sovereign, you sell yourself far too short," he protested, keeping his eyes up with what was becoming increasing practice. He shook his head in continued disbelief though, wry smile lingering in bemusement. "I'm not usually one for titles though, I have to admit. 'King' sounds too puffed up for a lorekeeper bard. I'm a scholar and a singer, nothing so grand as a king." Besides, what would he call himself? 'The Wise' would be too arrogant. 'The Reluctant' would be too rude to Edrei, who had done him a great honor - and a great favor, considering he had arrived a fugitive and was leaving a leader! 'The Confused' was definitely too honest, though, as was 'The Oft-Exasperated.' That led him back around to the beginning again, and something to do with wisdom. A trait he had been learning he lacked, but could at least strive for. Perhaps he could go with something similar? The Sagacious? Or simply 'the Sage?'
Gods most fortunate, Rory was going to laugh when he heard what happened. He tilted his head thoughtfully at Edy, a smile teasing the corners of his lips. "So would that make Remi a queen-consort? And is Bobi a baroness?"
They were going to be a most unusual trio, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully the others would forgive him for accepting the offer... but Edy had said it earlier, warning and promise both: keep your friends close.
And never for a moment forget that their enemy was still out there.
