He had resigned himself to lick, though he was hoping for just a purr, and her whispers had him tightening his embrace for a moment as he turned his head to press his cheek against hers in support and reassurance.

He released her as soon as she wanted to pull away, turning to pick up a feather from the floor with which to try and entertain Bobi (the young bobcat more regal than any of them, in the natural way cats had) while giving Edy a bit of privacy she didn't care about (but he did). "Would the lady like an escort to greet our third, ah, 'member'? Or is it something you'd rather do alone?"
