Here's a thing Rory did not expect to happen: him and Edrei Launceleyn and Peter Launceleyn (among others) going on a forest jaunt to try and use their magic to cure the blight.
Actually, he'd never thought he'd intentionally put himself in her vicinity again, and least of all in such a vulnerable environment. He still remembered, all too clearly, the threat she had made, what her face had looked like when she said it, what her voice had sounded like, and older still, the memory of her fire scorching his skin...
To be completely honest, he was still afraid of her. And he would not have volunteered for this kind of thing if not for one particular reason: the blight. Ever since seeing the Undine, and seeing her healed by the combined power of everyone gathered (and Arduinna, that mythical, mystical Fae) the blight had been on his mind. He had wanted to find out more about it, but he hadn't had the time, and lately he'd been using the notice board to practice his reading. So... there he was.
There he bloody motherfucking was, with two Launceleyns, one of whom had promised to kill him if he ever said Ronin's name again, in the Greatwood, where he had sworn off going because bad shit always happened when he did.
But then he had seen the Undine, and fallen in love with the waterfall, and.. there he was.
Once Delah appeared he felt something in his chest both loosen and tighten. So, he had witnesses if he was going to get brutally murdered, but also, she might not give a fuck, and also be the one to murder them.
But Gods, what a dumb as fuck idea it had been to go to this...
Should Delah look his way he would nod at her, but he made no attempt to get her attention. Silent, Rory waited for Edrei to give some form of instruction (or just outright murder him).
