He caught the length of her rancor and contentment though, shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. “I doubt I am much use to her,” the beast paused, the smile more genuine, more sincere, “but I am grateful to have her too.”

The beast, the heathen, the fiend nodded again, stare going back to his drink. “We are. We intend to destroy the plants causing the poisonous gas.” And then they could go from there.
