The man that appears out of the other side of the door isn’t who she expects either, and she watches him like a predator watching its prey before she realizes he has a similar look about him as he sizes her up. There’s a loud bout of cheering up above and she savors it as she takes up her defensive stance. But he bows and she finds it to be a bit more refined than she anticipates, and she adjusts her grip on one of the knives as she dips her head in a nod of acknowledgement.
He’s got a cute face about him, and there’s something within him that reminds her much of herself. Battleworn, honed, a blade. But while he might consider her a demon in her own right, he would be absolutely correct. The spear sails toward her and misses spectacularly, and she follows it with that icy gaze before a smirk play at her lips. “Just when I was hoping for blood.” She calls to him with a tsk in her voice and a harpy’s smirk. She moves to block his access to the spear, with a few quick steps and lets the knife in her hand fly out to him, hoping it might hit him in that pretty chest of his.
There’s something about a battle with guaranteed blood and cheering and handsome company that gets her heart pumping, and with it, she intends to win.
