The explanation caused a pale brow to arch, however, and the bard drew in a slow breath and let it out again, nodding slowly. "Yes, of course... that makes sense..." He sat back on his heels, frowning slightly as Sam picked up the bean to examine it.
The metallic device was cool and smooth, and utterly innocent in the lantern's light. It neither hummed nor lit up nor did anything other than lie there and be reflective.
