He pulled his cloak around himself, settling more comfortably on the floor near the blighted warrior woman, not trying to move closer but offering comfort silently if his presence can provide any. Her bluntness was almost enough to bring a smile to his face in spite of the seriousness of their situations and the topic at hand. It was a refreshing clarity, even if it was a refusal, and one he could appreciate. He would not have minded if she left it at that, but she continued, an almost sly look coming over her features.
He drew in a breath, not at the unknown name, but at the tale of a soul not yet bound to Mort. He bit his lip, wondering... was it a man who had not died after all? Or... was it one of those missing souls that Wessex had warned them off, the ones that did not make it out of Long Night? Or was it one of the lost souls that Ludo had warned him of? Twisted and monstrous things that weren't limited to haunting one week a year?

I don't think I've met him..." He trailed off, for that didn't necessarily mean much. True, he met a lot of people, but he couldn't meet everyone. Whether this Ru'in was Natural or Outlander, friend or family, living or dead, only Kiada could tell him.
