There was a bittersweet quality in Abasi’s voice that Loren knew well: homesickness. Even without knowing much about the other man, it was clear that he was hurting. Blight or no blight, the summoner knew a little bit about how that felt. ”Maybe not. But I’m sure we can find something you’ll enjoy.” He smiled softly at Abasi, though it was sad around the edges. The longer the other man thought about his old life, the harder it would be for him to get used to the new one he’d have to make here.Of course, as Abasi grew angry at Loren’s words, it seemed the other man might never be able to settle down, at least not while he was still sick. The Launceleyn raised his hands once more in a placating gesture. ”I’ve already done my part. Others are working on it as well. I promise, it will work in time.” Lies, all of it, except for the comment about others doing their part. Still, Loren didn’t want to get into specifics; every time one of the blighted had seen a Rose, they’d flown into a rage, so he was afraid to even mention them. ”Hey, whoa it’s okay. You’re going to be okay. Don’t panic, alright? I’m here.” At the obvious distress in Abasi’s voice the summoner spoke soothingly and he instinctively took a step closer to the other man.
