"I don't know 'bout nobody with the Blight," The implications that someone could actually catch the Blight was pushed to the back of his mind after seeing the display of magic above his head. Of course, he knew the Blight was bad. But nobody he cared about was alive and as long as the vendors kept showing up to sell their wares and he kept taking those items without consequence, what did he care about the others?

For once there's a spark in his eye that Granger himself wouldn't recognize if he saw it. Even if his reasoning for wanting to learn was purely selfish-- who would mess with a mouse that can shoot fire? There's still an excitement that's near palpable as he remembers himself and drops the man's hands, stepping back abruptly.
