“And they hate us just about as much as they hate Her. She gives us powers every now and again - upgrades. She keeps us going with our fluid. She… loves us. As her children and creations. And yes, for that, she expects a certain obedience.” And once they accept that, the easier life becomes. Wessex shrugs a little. "She brought me back to life. Personally, I find it's a small price to pay."
