Which is why she loves to fight. You don’t have to talk. You don’t have to say anything - in fact, you probably shouldn’t, because it means your focus is elsewhere, and that means you’re vulnerable. The Wraith relies on her gut, on the feelings that she gets about a person - there are inherent problems in experiencing the world that way, but it works for the Ascended. Talking just… leads to lies. Actions speak louder than words. Always have, always will.
Which is why she’s surprised no one’s called her out on some shit. And is equally surprised that she’s managed to keep it so well hidden.
Remi’s wings take her by surprise, a soft gasp or otherwise uncharacteristic sound escaping as she sees the flash, feels the lift, and then is successful and brings the alchemist down with her. Instinct tells her to keep him close, so she continues to try and pull the man into her, trying to bring him into a weird (for both of them, probably) embrace against her chest even as the earth closes up around her. She can’t stop it - but at least she knows she won’t suffocate inside.
