While Wessex dodged the branch that came for her, the woman the potter was cowering strategically crouched behind took a blow to the chest and went flying through the air. His eyes widened as he realized he was completely exposed.
And they widened even further as fucking people with wings and animals appeared in the clearing. The fact that this situation kept escalating in completely insane ways nearly caused him to panic. However, the sight of Wessex darting around and shooting arrows at the flaming bottles person and then the blue-eyed black-haired woman rushing up, looking only a little worse for wear and asking him to cover her, finally spurred him into action. The fires had burned away the snow, so he bent down and scooped up a rock, then ran after the woman who’d taken a hit for him. Wessex had already attacked Bottles and something weird was going on with the unarmed assailant, which left the tree, the animals, and the axe dude with the attitude.
Not wanting to tangle with the animals or the tree, Amun chucked his rock at axe dude as he ran in a circle, trying to stay between the attackers and the woman whose back he was supposed to be guarding. She was much faster than him, and he was trying to keep an eye on the tree as well as the other people in the clearing, so he didn’t do a good job keeping up.
