It was harder to strike the Cleric once he heard them speak, the voice indeed reminding him of himself...but Sam did not have a choice. Perhaps the voice was why he did not attempt to harm the Cleric in any way past making them unconscious, though he did have another idea. He hesitated before crouching down and turning the Cleric's neck towards himself, leaning to bite and drink from their neck. He did not savour the act, trying to make it as quick as possible; healing power was too useful to let go.
Once he had drunk, he stood up and looked back to the fight at the Mathair, trying to work out where he could help. It seemed his teammates had the Fae under control, so he snuck between them all to the Mathair, trying to walk around the tree while hidden and find what looked like a weak spot - a divot or a knot, somewhere the tree was weaker; then he plunged in the knife with all his strength and tried to jump backwards before he could be struck.
If successful he would look to see if anyone needed healing.

Sam drinks from Cleric then stabs the Mathair, jumping back to try and not get struck by it! Then looks to see if anyone needs a heal.
