Though the fae can share their thoughts such that HISSY isn't completely blinded by the ascended's lack of heat, it isn't as though LEROY can see particularly well either. Whatever they might have done was completely obfuscated by the bio-pulse soundlessly emitted but incredibly effective given the fae's proximity to Wessex. Wessex 's adrenaline surge is well timed, and as she moves from her hiding place her arrows both succinctly strike LEROY in the chest. Crashing to the ground he has just enough sense to toss both devices he holds. As they explode and coat the snow in a magical fire that burns bright and hot, as Wessex has likely predicted this, the Wraith is able to evade the fire easily. Both HISSY and LEROY are stunned by the blast; disoriented and nauseous .

As Samuel 's teeth bite deep into CLERIC's neck, the blast of sensual energy is enough to rouse the fae from his unconsciousness. Reaching out to grab at the ascended (feeling, but not seeing), CLERIC tries to attach vines and shoes made of stone to Sam's feet and legs even as the bookmaker tries to hurry back into the fray. Luck isn't on Sam's side though and rather than doing anything of the things he'd planned, he finds himself grappled by CLERIC's magic.

With a roar of anger and pain, KITTY tries to rise and attack Rexanna as she sends yet another bolt of firey magic towards the tree. The tiger lunges, not quite getting her footing in the snow as Rex's blast arcs easily and with perfect precision into Mathair. However the feline isn't the only opponent that the ascended has to worry about. The Mathair's roots suddenly rumble beneath the snow sending a shockwave out towards Rex. Large and gnarled underground boughs are suddenly unearthed, coiling around her like snakes as if they could suffocate her. Too bad she doesn't breathe.

As Amun found himself down the path Sam had pulled CLERIC down, he'd likely see vines and stones grappling an invisible body, with a frightened looking fae wiping at the bite at his neck with a terrified expression. Still dazed, SMASHY stumbles down the path towards Amun, Sam, and CLERIC, his club raised over his head.
