Scampering out of the way of the fire, Wessex makes a decision to take a page out of Sam’s book (though she doesn’t know what he’s up to, Mister Invisiboi) and use the Fae against themselves. Tribes seem kinda tight-knit. They may not want their fellow to die (unlike Wessex, who would sacrifice both Sam and Anum in a heartbeat, if it saved her and Rex or got the portal open). But rather than drink from one of them, stunned and nauseous as they are, she opts to take one of them hostage.
First, while they’re down she issues another bio-pulse, just for good measure. Then, hoping that Leroy is stunned enough to not be able to escape, Wessex grabs a knife (presumably made from iron) from her boot and quickly goes over to him. She falls to a wide-kneed stance and attempts to pull him up by his hair, tries to make sure he’s tightly against her chest and therefore between herself and Hissy, and puts the weapon’s edge to his throat, pressing hard enough to hopefully draw blood.
Does it burn, Leroy?
Whether or not the iron blade is painful against the Fae warrior’s skin, Wessex’s meaning is clear, but she will say it to the two of them anyway. “Surrender or I’ll slit his throat.” And in case either of them are thinking of shifting, she adds for good measure. “You know I’m faster than you.”
Looks like Wessex has gone soft.
