Amun felt his eyes widen as he spotted the unarmed assailant up and about and seemingly no worse for the wear. The unarmed person was standing over a mass of roots and stones that seemed to be doing something, but for the life of the potter he couldn’t figure out what. For a second he thought he might see a figure trapped in the plants and rocks, but he blinked and it turned out to be just a trick of the light. Amun’s eyes widened even more as he saw Axe Dude coming after him, weapon raised, probably for vengeance at what the potter had done with the stone.
Alright then, this was bad. This was very very bad. He was trapped with two opponents and all he had was a stupid rock. Plus, he wasn’t a fighter. Time to switch tactics. Dropping the stone, he held up his hands in a placating gesture. Although he spoke mostly to the unarmed man—who looked as frightened as Amun did—the potter made sure to pitch his voice loudly enough for Axe Man to hear as well. ”Hey, look I don’t know what’s going on here! There was this voice in my head that told me to show up, so I did, but then this dude attacked and I don't know why, and now he’s dead, and then you all attacked us, and I panicked, but I didn’t touch the tree and I don’t want to fight!” Although his words came out in a rush, hopefully they were believable enough. Granted, he had thrown that rock, but things were crazy so maybe they'd forgive him. As he talked, he would attempt to stepping in a wide circle, trying to put as much distance between himself and the tree and the axeman as possible.
He just wanted this whole ordeal to be over. And while he didn't think surrendering was the right move, fighting back wasn't going to work well for him either. Besides, worst case he'd buy some time for his allies (though he wasn't sure whose side he should even be on anymore) to come rescue him.
