Sam could have continued to argue with the Cleric, but it wasn't going to lead anywhere - while he was not usually good at self control, he managed to focus his attention on the vines around his ankles. He tried to pull at them, hoping that while the Cleric was distracted going over to their friend the spells intensity might lessen.
As he watch the fight continue (so much for peace talks) he couldn't help but notice The Voice had asked them to help her, but was now absent. It was becoming rather clear this was a difficult task, one that even Wessex, who he thought of as almost invincible, was finding difficult. They'd lost two members already. Looking towards the Mathair, where they had last seen any sign of the Voice, he would try to yell: "Lady Voice, please help us!"
