LILY
She’s sleeping. Without the sun to guide her, Lily has fallen into a weird ‘sleep whenever’ sort of phase, so it isn’t until people begin screaming that the singer wakes. Confused, sleep-bedraggled, she immediately takes a deep breath and can smell smoke. It’s rough on her throat. Her eyes widen in realization and she grabs her boots and big sweaters, throws them on, and then grabs her lap harp and music machine. She thinks of nothing other than getting out and saving herself. Laden down, Lily is slower than usual, but she manages to make her way down the stairs to the doors, where she thinks of nothing more than getting out.
The fire is certain death. And the darkness is likely death. But she’ll take likely over certain any day.
The luxere are the first thing she sees when she opens the door and the woman almost falls into the group as she stumbles out with a slight coughing fit. But her instruments are safe. And she is still alive. For the next few breaths, she is alive.
