Even after everything he’d done for LongNight, he still felt the need to prove himself, to bring good and beauty and light into the world instead of darkness.

At that point, Astra decided the demi-god had ignored her long enough. Just like with Oia’i’o, the luxere was entranced by the child of Rae. She shoved into him, eyes full of awe and joy, and, of course, the demand for head scratches.

He made sure his voice came out steadily and calmly, though there was no way to really prepare her for the news he was about to drop. ”He’s a demi-god child of Rae.” Loren watched the red-headed woman carefully for her reaction; whatever it was, it would probably be similar to the summoner’s when he’d met Oia’i’o: shocked and reverent.
