Barbed you record easily. Were you the tinker-er type, this might be where something like velcro gets invented (and in other worlds, this is precisely how). But you aren't, and so you merely record the world as it is, making no effort to apply its principles onto anything pragmatic. "Do you feel any swelling? Numbness? Tingling?" Given the effects on your limbs, you wouldn't be surprised if something similar manifests on Kai's tongue.
