Seeing as Loren hadn’t really been offended, he waved away Abasi’s response. ”No need to apologize.” Smiling a bit mischievously—not an expression that the summoner wore often, so he didn’t know how it would come across—the Launceleyn moved a bit closer to the other man. ”And here I was hoping you’d be a bit distracted by me. To think, I lost out to some mud.” Granted, it seemed to be some exceptionally stubborn mud, but Loren liked to think he was a bit better than that.As Abasi stepped forward, the summoner’s breath caught in his throat. For a moment, he’d thought the other man might be coming in for a kiss; however, as Abasi’s hands did their best to scoop the mud out of the Launceleyn’s hair, he let out a little huff of laughter. ”Thanks.” Seeing as Loren didn’t pay much attention to his physical appearance at the best of times, he hadn’t even considered what a mess he looked after getting mud in his hair. He gave the other man a grateful smile. Even if the efforts had been for naught, the summoner realized he kind of liked having someone else looking out for him for once.
Besides, even that small contact had set a little bit of heat simmering in his belly.
Business before pleasure, unfortunately: when Abasi agreed they needed shovels, the Launceleyn nodded in acknowledgement, then turned to lead the way to the closet with the tools. Grabbing two shovels, he held one out for Abasi. ”It was muddy, but I didn’t notice it being this bad. Or this persistent. Or this...lively.” Shaking his head, he turned to bring them back to the bathroom.
Once there, he started tossing full shovels of the stuff out the still broken window. Seeing as he wasn’t actually physically strong, it was painful, thankless, difficult work. Sadly, none of his magic (as far as he was aware) would be useful in this endeavor. He could feel the frustration building, though he tried not to let it show. Instead, he focused on Abasi, which was much better. "You still planning to open up your funeral home?"
