It is the most emotion he’s shown so far, his brows knit close together and his lips pulled into a thin tight line, save for the places scars deform it. ”Some things... some things are always useful. They have to... I have to be.” There’s an edge of desperation to his words, like if he pleads with her, she’ll change her mind, take the words back.
