Did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
Of course it could not be so easy. Sam froze, holding the snake, looking at the Fae around him. Immediately before he'd even really taken in the angry faces he activated his barrier, knowing it could not block their spears but hoping it might stop them from getting too close. How had they found him so quickly...? He had thought his invisibility made him safe here.
But really he knew a barrier and his feet weren't going to be enough to get him out of this mess. The only thing that he could see helping was The Voice. She said she would always be there for them - it was time to try that out. Desperately he called out for her in his mind, looking up to the sky as if she might come from there. "Please. I need you."
