it's 2am and i took 17 shots of vodka trying to forget your name
but the only name i forgot was mine. and sober —
A featherlight touch to her cheek has her surprised somewhat further — most people didn’t dare, most didn’t even draw nearer to her. She remained standoffish, perhaps some form of hardened look with predatory eyes that pushed people away before they closed in. But if she looks at him long enough, she can see the glint of something similar to her own darkness shining through, and her lips curve easily into a smirk. “Bold of you.” She comments quietly, amused at the thought. To be both? It seemed impossible, but then again she didn’t have the draw for the crown she used to as a child.

Monsters and dying worlds tended to put things into perspective, after all.

Still, he tells her he’s an optimist and she laughs at that, nodding slightly. “I couldn’t tell.” It’s a playful sarcastic jest. “I’m more of a prepare for the worst and be pleasantly surprised.” Her head tilts in amusement, almost daring the words to slip from her lips to see what he has to say to that — which one he may be.

Turns out she may be pleasantly surprised as he mentions there might be more for himself, and something in her switches to become something so much like her mother and her aunt that it almost feels weird, but she embraces it. Her smirk boldens, feathers sprouting further along her neck as she tilts her head to him in a very avianesque manner. “Consider yourself wrong.” It comes out bold but her chest flutters and her heart feels surprisingly light, even more so as he approaches and places his own crown atop his head.

Between them all, there’s something about this picture that seems a bit fairytale-like. But neither of them are princes or princesses, let alone king and queens, but it doesn’t stop the smirk from remaining at his answer. “Mmm I think you would be surprised.” Shoulders rise and fall in a slight shrug. “Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.” Turning slightly away from him, she glances over her shoulder with that same smirk. “Could always find out though.” And she steps one single step away from him, a tease.
— or drunk, you're the only thing on my mind
