Running a hand over his eyes again and then through his hair, Remi sighed wearily. “I...I suppose I was coming to terms with things there, and then suddenly we were here.” In fact Remi had struggled quite valiantly against his feelings, wanting to side on what was right, however hard that was to pin down. But in a new world, who was to say? There was no king here, no hierarchy really. Was who he was illegal here in the way it was before? “It isn’t the sort of thing I’d just have a deity mention so casually in any regard.” Remi could only shrug helplessly. He too had been caught in the snares of the terribly overwhelming waves of passion and pleasure that Frey had forced upon them. He still thought of it sometimes, the memory making him feel guilty and sad. “Yes.” Remi agreed, thinking of what the deity had recently said to him; there was always a choice. Sometimes that choice simply meant dying instead of giving in. Swallowing hard, the alchemist sighed. “We did.” Selfishly, Remi was just glad that the focus hadn’t been on him. How and what he would have chosen frightened him most of all. Looking at her, so soft and pure, Remi’s heart melted slightly as a warm smile spread across his face. “I would very much like that Phoebe.” His accent made the words all the more gentle and kind as he nodded. That she thought she sounded like a loser made the alchemist chuckle and shake his head. “That you do not.” He disagreed immediately. Turning away, Remi moved behind the counter to where he’d been making some tea. “Tea?” He offered, holding up two cups (cups Loren had once made for him, though that sentimentalism was now gone, and the cups were simply that). “But if we are to be friends, I should know a bit about you, mm?” He chuckled, raising a brow as he looked over his shoulder at the midwife, inviting her to tell him whatever she would about who she was.
