Jigano was distracted enough watching them that he didn't see the transformation take place, but when he glanced down again it was to a recognizable tall, lanky man.
He was covered in mud instead of snow now, but the shadows beneath his eyes remained and Jigano's cheer at the new companion faded, replaced with worry as he stepped forward to hear the quiet voice that rumbled in the spring air.
