DEIMOS
He listened, because for now, it was essentially all he could do, and in the hovering wakes of curiosity, the inquiry couldn’t handle being too far away, and he descended slightly, gliding above, something down there striking at his senses. Almost like the ice itself gave him pause, pondering over what sort of creatures could lurk and live within the embedded, glacial sea? What could survive? Something ancient and primordial? Something riddled with the right adaptations? Something older, wiser, stronger than the rest of the earth? His eyes glanced towards Amalia as she rendered herself on ice instead of air, but he kept himself aloft, eagle eyes catching the subtlest shift of something other than shadow, other than a shift in sea foam. Perhaps was all he could signify in the mystique – what would live out here, and why? Did it guard? Did it protect? Did it defend? Or was here to simply remain, alone out in the ethers of desolation? He maneuvered in all sorts of directions, intending to catch whatever meager glimpses available.
