But hope had also brought him to his knees in the foyer of his home, with blood staining the marble floor. Hope was his beginning, and yet somewhere in the poetic scheme of things, it would likely be his end.
But he focuses on the question at hand, the one he gives to Deimos. He focuses on the piercing blue gaze that meets his slate and settles under the weight of the results, the answer. That the Sword had been born beside one, and how wonderful and amazing that would have been. But it doesn’t stop there, not as the attuned bond between them ignites and he can feel the feelings, the bits and pieces in between, and Sunjata’s smirk shifts toward something akin to a boyish smile.
“That sounds incredible.” He rumbles thoughtfully. Korofi had been a desert land, and even Dorobo had been something closer to a plains in comparison. Nothing like what they had here. He’d never even seen snow before coming here, didn’t know what it was. But the mention of portals have that smirk coming back. “That’s all I want, really.” He shrugs lightly. He doesn’t have much else to want or need anymore. But the ocean, true water, would always be his northern star to his compasses now that his true north was gone again.
