It is almost no time before hedges are high enough to cut off almost all the sunlight, far more gnarled within than without. Slowly you find yourself drawing to a stop, looking wide-eyed at the wild and wonderful thing. "Wow... it's so old, but still full'a new growth. An' it seems... I dunno, more sentient than most plants."
