Loren blinked with surprise as his healing magic, for the first time since he'd discovered it, failed him. However, he only had a moment or two to stare down at Oliver in shock. Then there was a sound almost like thunder, and the summoner's eyes snapped back to the monster.
It pressed itself against his wall. The ice held, but the Launceleyn could hear it groaning and creaking from the strain. Snarling wordlessly, Loren raised both hands, brow furrowed in concentration. From one, water magic poured out to shore up the ice wall. From the other, more water magic poured out in a blast that he aimed at the monster itself, trying to wash it off the wall.
