Amalia lunges toward Ronin again, pulling out her shield in an attempt to soak up the next blow, trying to throw herself between the bolt of starlight and the Wraith. But Jigano has sent the starlight wide, and as it missed both Wraith and Shield the girl exhales a breath of gratitude before turning back Ronin.
And then, the world goes dark.
Jyoti feels it as it happens, her sharp cry of pain and fear a harrowing, alto note. Swiftly the starwhale swims to her companion's side, trying to shove away the remaining debris with her nose, starlight trailing in her wake as her actions become more and more frantic.
Amalia tries to soak some of Ronin's magic into her shield before getting knocked out.
Jyoti swims to Amalia's side and tries to get the debris off her.
